These light and cake-like beauties are one of our most popular flavours. The recipe is dairy-free* and gluten-free*, just using the goodness of almond meal, coconut, brown rice flour, eggs, dates and apple, with a touch of cinnamon. They are protein powerhouses that taste like apple pie - all baked into a healthy kids' muesli bar!
Soft and easy to eat for babies that are just starting out on solids, with no added sugar and of course, made from organic ingredients.
Our favourite story from a customer who ordered these was that her little one kept wanting more, asking for 'more cake please!'. Ah-ha, tricked into liking something that's good for them! Parents 1, babe 0.
What's in the pack?
Our Apple, Coconut & Almond Bake-at-Home Mix contains one pouch of dry organic ingredients already carefully measured and mixed, and one pouch of organic dried apple and organic medjool dates. You can find a full ingredients list a bit further down this page.
What do I need to have to make these bars?
You'll need just 2 things:
* 200g of chopped apple with the skin on (approximately 2 small apples - any colour or variety!)
* 3 eggs (we always like to use free range eggs to support the chickens).
How do I make the bars?
1. Blend the 2 ingredients listed above (you can use a blender, Nutribullet, Thermomix or Barmix - anything that can blitz things!) along with the medjool dates and dried apple found in the pack
2. Mix this with the dry ingredient pouch
3. Spread the mix in a slice tin (18x28cm) and bake for around 30 to 35 mins

How many bars does a pack make?
One pack makes 16 snack-sized bars (though, of course, you can cut them into any size or shape you like!). See our tips of how we cut our bars here.
This bake-at-home pack contains tree nuts (almonds). Although this recipe is gluten-free, it is packaged in a facility where gluten is present, so please take caution if your little one has allergies.
When made as directed, these bars contain eggs. Due to the number of eggs that goes into making these bars so delicious, it's not recommended that you try to use egg substitutes.
These bars are also naturally dairy-free!
Nutritional highlight - Almonds:
The finely ground organic almond meal we use in these bars is made from whole almonds, including the skin. Most other almond meals are made from blanched almonds (where the skins are removed) which reduces the fibre content. Almond skin has also been shown to have a prebiotic effect, essentially feeding the good bacteria in the large intestine.
Almonds are also an excellent source of vitamin E; a powerful antioxidant that protects cells against damaging free radicals, as well as supporting the immune system.
Storage and use by information:
Our bake-at-home mixes don't contain any preservatives or nasties. Unopened, they'll keep in the pantry for a couple of months (there's a Best Before date on the back of the pack).
Once baked, the best thing to do with our bars is freeze them! Not only will this lock in their freshness, it will also mean you have them on hand any time your baby or toddler needs a snack. All our bars freeze beautifully - keep them in an airtight container in the freezer and use within 4 weeks.
