Product Storage FAQs

Here's our most commonly asked questions about how best to store your bars and cookies! Still got questions? Need more info? Please don't hesitate to contact us! You can email us at, or message us through our facebook page here.

Q. What's the best way to store my BakeMe Snacks?
A. These beauties freeze so well, I find the best way to keep them is in the freezer. You can either pop them all in an airtight container, or wrap each bar or cookie individually in glad wrap. I then just take a bar or cookie out every time I need one and thaw it in the fridge (or on the bench) in an airtight container or lunchbox, or I pop one in the microwave for 15 to 20 seconds straight from the freezer (just be careful the fruit pieces aren't too hot!).

Q. Can I store my bars in the fridge?
A. Yes you can - just make sure your bars are completely cool before refrigerating and store them in an airtight container for up to 4 days. They're at their yummiest when eaten at room temp, so let them warm up a bit before you munch. Cookies are best stored on the bench in an airtight container.

Q. Can I freeze my bars or cookies once they're baked?
A. Absolutely! The freezer is the perfect place for your bars and cookies as it locks in their freshness. They are easy to thaw - I just take one out of the freezer and either let it thaw it in a lunchbox (or other sealed container) at room temperature, or I pop one in the microwave for 15 to 20 seconds straight from the freezer (just be careful as the fruit pieces can be hotter than the rest of the snack!).

Q. How long do BakeMe Snacks last in the freezer?
Your bars and cookies are best consumed within 4 weeks once in the freezer. Any longer than 4 weeks may change the texture slightly, but they're perfectly safe to eat.

Q. Once the bars or cookies are thawed, how soon do I have to eat them?
A. It's best to eat the thawed bars and cookies within 24 hours of thawing, just so they are at their best in terms of freshness and texture. Once thawed, just store in an airtight container in a cool, dark place or the fridge.

Q. Why is the shelf life of the bars and cookies so short?
A. Because our bars and cookies are made without preservatives and have a high moisture content (so they are easy for little mouths to eat!), the shelf life is shorter compared to store-bought muesli bars. It's best to think of our products like a loaf of bread or a freshly baked cake - best to freeze as soon as you can to lock in their freshness and so they're always handy!
